The Kohler & Sons Story

Kohler & Sons is a family oriented small business that was started as a happy accident. Our owner Austin is a professional firefighter. Like most firefighters he had to take on extra jobs in order to make ends meet and provide for the family. One day he was working one of his part time jobs when he got to asking the boss about their social media and website presence. Come to find out, at the time the company didn’t have much of one. They wanted to have one, but as many small business owners know, there wasn't much time to dedicate to creating an online presence when they already had to deal with the huge laundry list of things that come with the day to day of operating a small business. So, on a whim our owner said he would look into ways to grow that online presence for them.

That was in 2019. Fast forward to 2025 and that company now has a sprawling interconnected online presence on all the major social media platforms, runs sophisticated, targeted ad campaigns, has a professional website, and is on all the major search engines. They regularly put out high quality, professional branded content. Their brand awareness and audience is 100 times greater than it was at the start and they are now one of Kohler and Sons’ largest and most valued clients. During the time spent building that company’s profile Austin gained proficiency in the numerous technical skills that are required in professional brand promotion and marketing. He also began working on projects for other clients and in 2025 felt like it was time to launch Kohler and Sons as an official business.

That’s the origin story but what about the name? Remember earlier when we mentioned that K&S is a family oriented business? That wasn't just marketing fluff to pull at your heart strings. The “sons” is in honor of Austin’s 3 boys that he hopes to grow the business for and leave for them to run one day.

How about that logo? Even it ties into the company’s family first mantra. The pup that is the face of the company is named Cooper and is the family dog. Austin got inspiration to use Coop as the mascot one day when Cooper was just sitting there looking at him quite adorably. One rather ridiculous at home photo shoot (it can be hard to get a dog to sit still for a selfie) and some graphic design magic later and voila, Mr. Cooper became the face of our company.
